Efficiency and Effectivity are two words that bring along the production system related to Industrial Engineering area. Those two words may provide many issues related to time, cost, and quality. One should know that there a lot of tasks to do to get an efficient and effective result, especially in manufacturing domain.
When I read the Bible along the Genesis 1, I have some thought about the production system. God's creation can be referred as God's production. He made all the things good. He made all the things in a well-planned. He made all the things perfectly as He wants and as He needs. Once it was created, it lasts till forever. Could you imagine, how many animals are there in the world ? How many plants are there in the world ? How complicated is our world ? There are a lot of things that we cannot understand what God has done.
God did a marvelous things when He created the world. That's the most wonderful time of "production system". All creations had been made just within a single day. Now, let's thing on the perception of manufacturing product. Can you imagine, how long to make a single car in Toyota? How many cars may be produced in a day ? It has been researched that a car may come out within 2.5 minutes. (noted : I will go to Toyota City at Nagoya (Japan) by the end of this month. So, I will give detail information after my visit). Therefore, there will be at most - assume 24 hours production - 576 cars in a day. But, how about the God's creation ? He made all the creatures in the sea, land and air. All of them within 2 days. Wasn't it an amazing things ?
Once upon a time, I had a chance to visit a butterfly museum. They mummyfy the butterfly around the world in this museum. There are more than 100.000 butterflies with different colors, different shape, and different size. It is only butterfly. How many different animals are there in the world ?
I will not talk about the human beings, since God created two persons in the beginning. I can give illustration the same as making an airplane. The detail, the design, the manufacturing needs a single detail step to be a good airplane. 9 months and 10 days in the mother's womb is the production to be a single human beings. The complicated of a human is not equal to the production of things in the world - airplane as example of the most complicated product in recent days. However, we can know that the God's "production" has different material and unique item that man cannot after the manner of God.
What I want to say is God's creation is the most wonderful production system in the world history. There were no such example in the world of Industrial Engineering that can "produce" or create a thing more than our God can do.
Therefore, why we still doubt that Our Lord is our best creator ? why are we still thinking that human may be the result of evolution of other species ? Efficiency and effectivity that God taught us should be minded in our thought to rule and maintain the worlds as God's want.

Matthew 11:29-30 for 2008
In new year time, I got a message that Matthew 11:29-30 will follow after me in the year 2008. What does it mean ?
11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
11:30 For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light.
I am not so sure about the meaning of this Words for me in 2008. Anyhow, I feel that I have a lot of things to do for pleasing God. The "yoke" is easy and the "burden" is light. So, I think God will give me many things to do that is easy and light if I go with HIM along the way in 2008, though, others think that it is impossible to do those things.
Let see what will be happened in 2008. God with us...

What is vision ?
Many successful people lived without vision. They just dream what they wanted to be. Is it different between dream and vision ?
Some people might say that dream is different with vision. Some may say it is the same. So, is there any differences between both of them ? I don't want to bring many arguments about dream and vision. Some culture differentiate the terminology dream and vision because their native languages does the difference. Therefore, I just want to keep the word "vision" and define is as a part of leadership. Today, I want to share about - what is vision is.
Most people said that vision is a long term dream, long term sight what we want to be. It is usually within 10 years, or more, or it maybe an everlasting dream. We should put our vision as a general terminology and big for our reach. Some people say that people should bring the vision as realistic as you can. For example, "being a person who always please God" is a truly general vision and "being an educator who can help the handicap to please God as our creator" is a specific personal vision.
Specific means you know WHAT you wanna be and you know WHY you wanna be that way, you know WHEN you wanna be, you know WHO you wanna be and you know HOW you wanna be.
My vision is being an educator who please God in my interest, related to Industrial Engineering and Information System. my WHAT answer is educator. my WHY is related to the education condition in Indonesia, especially in the christianity industrial context. my WHEN is something that I'm not defined in my vision. It means, I can do it anytime that God sent me to do the things I described. the WHO is precisely as mentioned as in my vision, to please God. It means WHO represents GOD. And the HOW is a process that I'm doing right now as a student in Industrial Engineering.
It is not easy to find our vision. We should pray and find some times to communicate and understand the word of God to know what is His willing unto our lives. And, try to use those words, as I explained above, as the directive to define your vision.
Will our vision change ? Yes, it will change due to time and condition. Is it wrong ? I don't think that it is bad to change our vision. So, don't afraid to put the vision in your life now. Think more and pray more, so you can have a vision within this year through. Year 2008 has come. So, let's do something great in this year coming and put a target of ourself to achieve our vision in the next couple of years.

Post Power Syndrome
Many people think that being a leader is a burden. But, some people like to be chosen as a "forever" leader. The right terminology for this matter is Post Power Syndrome. (PPS). [In Korea, PPS means Pre-Paid Service - for cellular phone service].
It is very dangerous if someone put themselves to high on the top and don't want to go down because of some pride problem. The eagerness to be leader forever is not wrong at all. However, the world keeps running, the man is growing old, the knowledge is going better, the skill is getting improved and the character is getting mature. Everything may be obtained for the self-oriented, not the people-oriented.
So, it is not good for being a selfish leader anywhere you are. It is not good for getting everything for yourself, not considering others to grow up as mature as you are. Therefore, it is the time to think more about yourself, if you are a leader for many times in an organization. It is the time to give up yourself and give the authority to others who appropriate to sit in your place.
Anyway.... the PPS is not only about this matter...... many other things is considered as PPS either. I will write some more when I have time....

Do you need a leadership ?
Sometimes, people ignore leadership. They only consider that experiences goes well to build a leadership mentality, not verse versa. In order words, people don't care how can it be as long as they can handle with its own way. They don't need any special skill to solve some problems, nothing else than ready to take serious risks (we called it "nekat").
Is it true ?
In our life, we need a special talent to plan our life.
To fail to plan is to plan to fail.
Without a special skill of leadership matters, we could not survive in such of difficult and indelicate environment. Trust me, you may need to train your leadership skill to be able to facing through these days of life.
